Commentary
And when that was a great kingdom; He alerted to its greatness by its abundance; its permanence; and the greatness of the One who gives it; so He said - beginning with the estimation: "We said to him"; and similar to it -: ﴿This﴾; meaning: the great matter; ﴿Our giving﴾; meaning: according to what we have of greatness; then He caused the release of the action, which is the greatest of objectives; how many a possessor of something is restrained from acting with it; so He said - starting with what necessitates love and attracts hearts; indicating His greatness; and the manifestation of His matter; by clarifying the merging -: ﴿So bestow﴾; meaning: give to whom you will a gift; beginning without any cause from the giver; ﴿Or withhold﴾; meaning: from whom you will.
And when this is a gift that surpasses the description of greatness; He increased its glorification by its abundance; and its ease; and the safety of the outcome in it; so He said: ﴿Without﴾; meaning: all of that from the giving and bestowal; free from ﴿Accountability﴾; because you do not fear its decrease; and your Lord is the Giver; and the Commander; nor from it being something that will be asked about in the Hereafter; because He has permitted you; so the negation of accountability from Him implies two things; abundance and the absence of reckoning in giving; or withholding; and making it an additional source indicates that it is only the accountability that is considered; not the absolute "accountability"; by estimation; as it is in matters that perplex the enumerator; so its matter approaches a kind of conjecture.
