Commentary
And when it was established by what was mentioned from the beginning of the surah to here, what was mentioned in this mention of the proofs; which only a flawed mind would reject; a mixture of intellect; it was established that He is the One of the mention and the greatest honor; so He said (the Exalted) - alerting to that as an indication that it is the law by which righteousness is known to be followed; and corruption to be avoided; informing about an initial statement of its estimation: "It is" -: ﴿A Book﴾; meaning: it has from greatness what cannot be encompassed; and He described it by saying: ﴿We have sent it down﴾; meaning: by what we have of greatness; ﴿to you﴾; and that is from its greatness; because you are the greatest of creation; then He informed about another initial statement; clarifying what preceded it; in a manner of resumption; so He said: ﴿Blessed﴾; meaning: ever-flowing with goodness; abundant in benefit; everything in it is established with an establishment that never fades; and no book can abrogate it; nor anything else.
And when He mentioned what it has of greatness; in indication and expression; He mentioned the purpose of its sending down; so He said: ﴿So that they may reflect﴾; with the lightness of the letter 'd' in the address; (p-375) in the recitation of Abu Ja'far; honoring the nation; by including them in the address to His noble presence ﷺ; and drawing attention to the saying; in the recitation of the congregation; in the unseen and the emphasis of the letter 'd'; to those who need to be alerted to the reasons; for what they have of distractions that lead to flaws; as for him ﷺ, he is in the utmost of grace for contemplation; and reflection with the clearest thoughts; from the time of the sending down; due to his knowledge of the reason for the sending down; whereby, due to the intensity of his exertion on his noble self, he was commanded to lighten; and it was guaranteed for him (the Exalted) to gather it and recite it; ﴿His verses﴾; meaning: to look into the consequences of each verse; and what it leads to; and what it conveys of the hidden meanings; which the length of contemplation in the apparent has made him aware of; so whoever is content with merely memorizing its letters is like one who has a precious she-camel but does not milk it; and a mare that is fruitful but does not breed; and it is fitting that he should waste its limits; and thus incur a manifest loss.
And when everyone is commanded to be attentive; to everything they see and hear; regarding what is beyond it; and it is not within the capacity of everyone to reach the end in that; they were content with what is below it; so the 't' of "tafa'ul" was merged into the 'f' of the word; indicating that; as indicated by the recitation of Abu Ja'far; and perhaps the recitation of the congregation is an indication of striving to understand (p-376) its hidden aspects; and Allah knows best.
And when the context is for remembrance; and it is attributed to the essence of creation; and the bringing to mind of what was with man and he was heedless of it is not difficult; due to its clarity; it has made evident the 'taa'; urging to exert effort in the exercise of thought; and to persist in that; for it leads after the conjectural introductions to certain matters; definitive; either tangible; or having a witness in the senses; so He said: ﴿And let him remember﴾; meaning: after contemplation; a great and clear remembrance - as indicated by the manifestation -; ﴿Those of understanding﴾; meaning: all that he has guided them to; of what Allah has made known to them within themselves; and in the horizons; for they find that known to them; by sense or otherwise; within themselves; or outside of them; nothing in the Qur'an is outside of the consideration of something known to man; there is no dispute about it at all; but Allah (glorified and exalted is He) makes it evident to whom He wills; and conceals it from whom He wills: 'We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves'; and He will manifest it on the Day of Resurrection; for it is ingrained in the nature of everyone that the leader does not leave those under his authority without account at all.
