Commentary

And when there was in the face of their opposition and their discord; and their gathering against the opposition being false; and their agreement; and when they were due to what they had of obstinacy; and the fervor of ignorance; perhaps they denied that the destruction of these factions was due to their denial; and they said: it is the habit of time in destruction; and the difference in the causes of destruction; He said - affirming with various types of affirmation -: ﴿Indeed﴾; meaning: what; ﴿every﴾; from these factions; had a cause for their destruction from the causes; ﴿except﴾; that indeed; ﴿they denied the messengers﴾; meaning: all of them; by denying His messenger; for indeed, whoever denies a single messenger; while the proof of his message is established; has belittled the one who sent him; and that necessitates the denial of all whom He sends; due to the equality of the miracles that established their messages with it; in necessitating belief; ﴿so it is true﴾; meaning: thus, it resulted from that denial that it is true ﴿punishment﴾; meaning: it was established upon him; so he could not escape from it in any way; and the shift to the singular pronoun with the style of speech; because the context is for monotheism; as has passed; and it is more explicit about the intended meaning; and the secret has preceded in the omission of the 'ya' in writing in all the copies; and in recitation among most of the reciters; and in affirming it in both cases only for Ya'qub.

And when the context was for discord; and submission to the reminder; which is the noble admonition:

The high honor does not remain safe from harm ∗∗∗ until blood is shed upon its sides.

The situation necessitated punishment; contrary to what is in 'Q'; for indeed the context is for their denial of resurrection; (p-345) and the validity of the warning; and the affirmation of glory; so the warning in that was sufficient.
