Then he replaced that with what is a proof for it; he said: ﴿When he said to his father﴾; meaning: the one who is the greatest of people to him; and the most esteemed in his eyes; and the most beloved to him; ﴿and his people﴾; meaning: those who possess strength and lineage that the lions fear them; ﴿What﴾; meaning: what is it that ﴿you worship﴾; belittling their matter; and the matter of their deities; alerting that there is no reason for them in reality that carries them to worship it; without being concerned about their multitude; nor afraid of their strength; nor taking into account the inclination of human nature towards their affection.
