And when he informed about their punishment; and its cause was the stagnation; along with the customary practice that is not based on truth; and the adherence to what the soul has become accustomed to; and what the natures inclined towards; from what has been established by those who believe that he is greater than them; and more complete in intellect; he explained that; as a warning against similar things; because it was the cause of the destruction of most of creation; and he emphasized it because they deny the misguidance of those who established it for them; so those customs from their forefathers; and others; he said: "Indeed, they found"; meaning: they found a finding they were accustomed to; "their forefathers in misguidance"; meaning: deeply rooted in misguidance; so what they are in is not hidden from anyone that it is misguidance; which causes aversion from its possessor;
