Commentary
Then he mentioned their estrangement from the return to the Hereafter; and their great bewilderment; and their regret when they witnessed what they had denied; and the verses were intertwined with the mention of the messengers and their nations; and their persistence in obstinacy; and their hesitation; and their denial; on a similar pattern; and the taking of each for his sin; and the deliverance of the messengers of Allah; and His party; and the preservation of their beautiful mention by their selection; and His closeness; then the speech returned to the reprimand of the polytheists; and the clarification of the falsehood of the aggressors; until the end of the surah; it has concluded.
And when it was established that He is One; He produced His description by saying: ﴿Rabb﴾; meaning: Creator; and Owner; and King; and Disposer of ﴿the heavens﴾; meaning: the lofty bodies; ﴿and the earth﴾; meaning: the lowly bodies; ﴿and what is between them﴾; meaning: from the filled space; from the companions; and the helpers; with what the powers are unable to count; and this - along with being a result of what has passed - is suitable to be a proof for Him; for what He indicated by the order of the management; which cannot be prepared with multiplicity; just as the swearing by it here is also an indication of the proof of Oneness; by being on a single, constant system in obedience; which was indicated by the ranks; and the prohibition; and the recitation; so glorified is He who made this Qur'an a miraculous system; wondrous in its affair; far from its aims.
And when the context was for the elaboration by recitation; and others; and the direction of the east was the direction of the outpouring by the manifestation that brings forth the hidden; necessitating the purification from deficiencies; and all were more suitable for the gathering; looking towards the overcoming by unity; he said: ﴿And the Lord of the east﴾; meaning: the three hundred and sixty; which the sun; and the moon; and the other wandering stars manifest upon you every day; throughout the ages; and the years; and the months; and the days; on a system that does not dissolve; and a movement that does not change or falter; and its mention certainly indicates the west; for it differs by it; and he repeated the description with it; as a reminder of the clarity of its indication; with what is in it from the context; of the gathering; indicating the beauty of the unity; and for the indication of resurrection by the verses after the absence.
