Commentary

And when He has established for her perfection; He negated from her deficiency; so He said: ﴿There is no ghouls in it﴾; meaning: corruption from splitting the head; or loosening a joint; or overwhelming the liver; or other than that which destroys; meaning: kills; or could be a cause for destruction; ﴿And they are not driven away from it﴾; meaning: usually after drinking it; ﴿They are not intoxicated﴾; meaning: something goes away from their minds; even if their drinking is prolonged and abundant; so that their bliss does not decrease; nor does their drink run out; or what they have of freshness; for everything that brings them joy; according to the reading of Hamzah; and Al-Kisai; with a kasrah on the zay; from 'anzafa'; built for the doer; like 'aqalla'; and 'a'sara'; if he becomes poor; or his mind goes away; and the reading of the majority is built for the object; it is possible that it is from 'nazafa'; and at that time it is possible that it is from the running out of the drink; from their saying: 'nazafat al-rakiyah'; meaning: its water has gone; and it could be from the loss of the mind; from their saying: 'nazafa al-rajul'; with the doer form; and 'nuzifa'; with the object form; meaning: his mind has gone; due to intoxication; and it is possible that it is from 'anzafa'; and at that time it is possible that it is from the loss of the mind; from 'anzafa al-rajul'; if his mind has gone due to intoxication; and it could be from the lack of drink; from their saying: 'nazafa al-rajul al-khamrah'; whether it is built for the doer; or for the object; if he has consumed it.
