Commentary

And when He - glorified and exalted is He - is the Just Judge; He does not wrong anyone even the weight of an atom; He does not increase in their recompense anything beyond what they deserve; although He has the right to do as He wills; and His actions - however they may be - are only just. He said: "And you"; meaning: while you have not; "will be recompensed"; meaning: a part of the recompense; "except what"; meaning: like what; and when they were inclined towards those bad traits; He clarified that they were a character for them; they could not detach from it by the expression of the tool of existence; so He said: "You were doing"; negating the illusion of those who may think that they did something without His decree - glorified and exalted is He.
