And when they were stopped at this humiliating position; what overwhelmed them from the sorrow distracted them from the 'saying' and the 'it was said'; they were called from the position of might; and the veil of power and honor - an increase in their lamentation; and their reproach; and their reprimand; diverting from the context of the absence to the address; indicating the greatest disappointment -: 'What is wrong with you'; meaning: what has happened to you that has occupied you; and distracted you; while you are 'not supporting one another'; meaning: some of you do not support one another; and they do not compete in that like the competition of those who are debating it; those of determination; and strength; and honor; and zeal; even with the slightest support - by which the dropping of the 'ta' is understood -; or after a pause and employing a trick - as indicated by the reading of Al-Bazzi from Ibn Kathir; with elongation; and merging; where is your saying in 'Badr': we are all victorious? expressing what indicates the steadfastness of support.
