And when their habit was to hasten towards what they threaten with in mockery; whenever a threat came to them, it caused denial against them; in the form of another threat to them. So He said: ﴿Do they hasten our punishment﴾; meaning: for what is known to Him of greatness; by adding it to us; (p-316) ﴿They hasten﴾; meaning: they request that it be hastened for them to come before its appointed time that we have set for it;
