Commentary
And when what occurred happened; he detached himself from himself and others; a detachment that no one else has like his totality; certainly; he increased in detachment by annihilation in the station of oneness; thus he adhered to glorification; until Allah (glorified and exalted is He) saved him; and to that is the indication in His saying (glorified and exalted is He): ﴿If it were not that he was﴾; meaning: a creation; and a character; ﴿of those who glorify﴾; meaning: those deeply rooted in this station; and it is what is correct to apply 'glorification' in the language to him; from the glorification of the heart; and the tongue; and the limbs; through prayer and others; because his creation is in accordance with what he was prepared for from his character; thus it is necessary for him in times of ease; and comfort; and tranquility; and abundance; so how about him in times of hardship; and Ibn Abbas - may Allah be pleased with them both - carried him to prayer;
