Commentary
And when he mentioned these leaders who have the rank of purity and integrity as previously stated; and he concluded them with two brothers who never came together; and it was one of the greatest objectives in mentioning them the favor upon those who possess similar qualities of closeness; and support; as consolation; and as a hope for the Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, and for those who follow him from the believers; from those who faced - due to the severity of trials; and oppression - despair of victory; he followed them with their likes in purity; and he began with two brothers who separated at the birth of the second; in a state where it is not customary to come together; then they came together inwardly; while being separated outwardly; then they separated in a state where coming together is usually distant; then they gathered in a gathering from which they did not separate except by death; and he began with the first of them who detached from him; from the time of his birth until the time of his migration; then from the time of his return until he purified his family - who are some of the descendants of Ibrahim - peace be upon him - and saved them from the ties of disbelief; then he detached with them, he and his brother, from the cities; and the villages; and most of the ties of humanity; remaining in the wilderness and the open lands; where the word frequently appears; with Allah sending to them the mines of wisdom; until they both died - upon them be prayers and peace; and greetings and honor -; he said - affirming; as a reminder for those who consider the victory of the believers impossible; adding to what he decrees: "Indeed, We have raised from them nations that defy description; and escape enumeration; and We have bestowed upon many of them with kindness; from the children of Ismail - peace be upon him -; until Amr ibn Luhay changed their religion; and from the children of Ishaq; Yaqub; and the tribes - peace be upon them - and whoever Allah wills from their offspring" -: "And indeed We have bestowed"; meaning: We have granted a favor that is definitive; with what we have of greatness; upon the first who manifested the tongue of truth for Ibrahim - peace be upon him -; and his descendants; with a complete manifestation; and he began with the most rooted of them - as previously stated - in purity; and the most deserving of them to be advanced; he said: "upon Musa"; one of the prominent of the pure; and one who has a firm standing in that; "and Harun"; meaning which one! Who detached with his brother; and agreed with him in the most complete agreement; and supported him in the greatest support; with what they brought of prophethood; and the book; and other types of discourse.
