Commentary
And when the outcome of this parable, which the denial is attached to, is the dust; the distancing of distinguishing a thing when it becomes dust; and it mixes with the dust; from other dust; he described his glorified and exalted self by bringing forth the thing that is the most hidden of its opposite; and that is by distinguishing the fire from the wood in which the water is apparent; by the hands of the incapable of His creation; so he said - reiterating the connected phrase; as a reminder of the described; so that he may bring to mind what he has of the attributes of perfection; and hasten to submit to Him whoever is alive -: "The One Who made for you"; meaning: a provision; and insight; "from the green tree"; which you see water in it; "a fire"; by taking one of you two branches; like two miswaks; and they are both green; from which water drips; then he crushes the marakh - which is male - on the 'ifar - which is female - so the fire comes out; Abu Hayyan said: and from Ibn Abbas - may Allah be pleased with them -: "There is no tree except that there is fire in it; except for the jujube."; that is the end.
And for this reason, they said in the famous parable: "In every tree, there is fire, and the marakh and the 'ifar have been ignited"; "So when you are"; meaning: a surprise will result from that; because you "from it"; meaning: the tree described with greenness (p-182) in its essence; "ignite"; meaning: you create the ignition; and that is renewed for you time after time; it is not an illusion; nor magic; rather it is a clear, established reality; and as if he has presented the neighbor for the abundance of their igniting from it; so he counted their igniting from other than it for that; and for its greatness; as non-existent.
