Commentary
And when that indicated death certainly; He followed it with resurrection; and for that He expressed it with blowing; for it is known in the pouring forth of the soul; and He said: ﴿And the trumpet will be blown﴾; meaning: the one whose cry took them; and He made it unclear as a reference to the fact that there is no stopping for it in the essence of the matter on a specific blower; so that what He wants - glorified and exalted is He - from the effect may be from him; rather, whoever Allah has permitted, whoever he may be; will be affected by his blowing what has been mentioned; even if we know that the one permitted is Israfil - peace be upon him.
And when this blowing is a cause for their standing before Him; equally; without any delay; He expressed - glorified is He - with what indicates the following up; and the causation; and the suddenness; so He said: ﴿Then they will rise﴾; meaning: at the time of the blowing; ﴿from the graves﴾; meaning: the prepared graves; they and those in them; to hear that blowing; ﴿to their Lord﴾; meaning: the One who has done good to them with upbringing; and preparation for this resurrection; so they denied His goodness; not to anyone else; ﴿they will rush﴾; meaning: they will hasten their walking; with close steps; with strength and energy; how great is that comprehensive ability; and complete wisdom; where there was one sound that gives life at one time; and causes death at another; as if He has instilled in it from the secrets that it gives everything the opposite of what it is upon; whether life; or death; or fainting; or awakening.
