Commentary
And when it was known - by what was indicated by their stubbornness in denying the messengers; and their threatening; along with what they had of signs; that they would not leave this which is from their city; and he confronted them with what if they ignored it, most of their matters would collapse upon them; he did not mention it (the Exalted) as a count of that which does not require mention; and he said (p-114) - in response to one who yearned to know his state after that; by saying - concisely in the statement; encouraging for the people of faith -: ﴿It was said﴾; meaning: to him; after their killing him; so he built it for the acted upon; and omitted it because the intended meaning is the saying; not the speaker; and the one spoken to is known; ﴿Enter Paradise﴾; because he is a martyr; and the martyrs roam in Paradise wherever they wish; from the time of death.
And when human nature is inclined towards the love of revenge against those who have wronged them; He clarified - glorified is He - that the chosen ones are not in that state; so He said - resuming -: ﴿He said, Oh, I wish my people﴾; meaning: those who have strength; for what is intended from them; if their strength were against the disbelievers, it would have been good; ﴿They know﴾;
