Commentary
And when they were prevented by that from the sense of sight, he informed about the sense of hearing. He said: "And it is equal"; meaning: it is level and perfectly balanced, without any kind of difference. He further emphasized the indication of their lack of understanding by using the expression of superiority, signaling that if they were to refuse with the one who is superior, they would be even more resistant with others. He said: "Upon them is it that you have warned them"; meaning: what We have informed you of, from the deterrents that prevent disbelief; "Or have you not warned them?" Then he clarified that their state is equal in what the cause of the veiling has brought about, which is the lack of faith. He said - beginning anew -: "They do not believe."
