Commentary
And when he concluded the statement regarding the purpose of Satan to its utmost; he alerted to what he has decreed - glorified and exalted is He - concerning his followers; by saying - resuming -: "Those who disbelieved"; meaning: they covered; (p-13) by following him out of desire; what their minds did not guide them to; and this precious statement revealed to them the utmost of revelation; "For them is a severe punishment"; meaning: in this world; by missing most of what they hope for; along with the division of their hearts; and the blockage of their insights; and the lowliness of their ambitions - until they accepted that their god be a stone -; and the concealment of knowledge - which there is no sweetness in the truth other than it - from them; and in the Hereafter with the blazing fire; which he called them to accompany.
And when he mentioned the reward of his party; he followed it with the party of Allah; those who opposed their enemy; and he said: "And those who believed and did righteous deeds"; meaning: confirming their faith; "the righteous"; and when one of the greatest traps of Satan is what befalls a person - mistakenly; and out of ignorance - from disobedience; due to what he has of deficiency; to drag him thereby into intention; and aggression; he said (the Exalted) - calling him to His obedience; and removing his shame -: "For them is forgiveness"; meaning: a covering for their sins; such that there is no punishment; nor reproach; and that is hastened in this abode; and were it not for that they would have been exposed; and tomorrow; and were it not for that they would have perished; and when He erased it completely and in effect; He affirmed the favor; and said: "And a great reward"; meaning: it is beyond description; other than this generality; for among it is immediate - with the ease of worship; and the continuity of knowledge; and what they see in their hearts beyond certainty -; and delayed; with the realization of the requested; from the great favor; and attaining what is beyond expectation in Paradise.
