Commentary

And when this is one of the strangest matters; and if it is overlooked; due to the abundance of familiarity with it; it has been pointed out for its strangeness; and the further manifestation of ability in it; by the repetition of the negation in its counterparts; and that the sight does not penetrate except in darkness; a reminder that sins darken the heart of the believer; even if he is insightful; and he has preceded darkness because it is a stronger manifestation of the disparity of sight; in accordance with the context; as he has established; so he said - in the conjunction of the spouse to the spouse; and the conjunction of the individual to the individual; gathering; a reminder that the paths of misguidance cannot be confined -: "nor the darknesses"; which are an example of falsehoods; and he affirmed by repeating the negation; like that which came before it; because the disparity between the individuals of darkness; and the individuals of light is subtle; so he said - reminding that the path of truth is one; refuting those who said from the heretics: the paths to Allah are as numerous as the breaths of creatures -: "nor the light"; which is an example of truth; how magnificent they are - upon this opposition - except Allah (glorified and exalted is He), the active, the chooser; and He differentiated between the individuals of light and the individuals of darkness; so the light of the sun does not resemble the light of the moon; nor does either of them resemble the light of other stars; nor does any of that resemble the light of the lamp; to other than that from the lights; and if you consider the individuals of darkness, you will find them likewise; for the darknesses are merely shadows; and some shadows are denser than others.
