Commentary
And when He ordained for them this tremendous punishment in this world, He clarified that this is His way with His allies and His enemies. He said, affirming the establishment in the place of origin, due to their distance from it because they had not experienced anything like it, despite their entanglement with [their families] and tribes. He said: "The way of Allah," meaning the method [for you] that encompasses all of this greatness is this way, like His way "with those who have passed away," meaning: their days and their news have gone by, and their events and their lifetimes have come to an end, of those who used to hypocritically oppose the prophets, like Qarun and his followers, and between their killing them due to their being in some of (p-415) the times. He said: "Before," and the greatest affirmation for what they have of the distance that incited them to hypocrisy. He said: "And you will not find" meaning: ever and always "the way of Allah" meaning: the method of the greatest King "any change" as the ways of kings are changed, for He does not change them, nor is there anyone comparable to Him in greatness who could change them.
