Commentary

And when the meaning of the words is that they are to be expelled because he ﷺ is commanded to expel them, distance them, and kill them, he clarified their state in their expulsion or he set it in the context of cursing. He said: ﴿Cursed﴾ meaning: they are to be expelled far from mercy and driven away from the doors of acceptance.

And when the expelled may be left and distanced, he clarified that they are not like that, so he said, continuing: ﴿Wherever they are found﴾ meaning: they are found, and the one who finds them is more cunning than them, more perceptive, more intelligent, and more resourceful. ﴿They are taken﴾ meaning: that finder took them. ﴿And killed﴾ meaning: their killing was frequent and emphasized; then he confirmed it with the source, out of hatred for them and to instill fear in them, saying: ﴿Killing﴾.
