Then the excuse of its people in the state of excuse is not mentioned. For certainly, He, glorified and exalted is He, did not set a limit to which it ends. And He did not excuse anyone for leaving it except one who is overcome by his mind. Both are also witnessed by the angels and indicate the Hour: the second is its proximity by the end of the world entirely, and the first is about resurrection after death. It is permissible that this refers to the two prayers of Fajr and Asr, because the regularity in them - due to what has been indicated about their difficulty because of the distractions that occur at their times from comfort and others - indicates the utmost love for being present in the divine gatherings. This compels one to be regular in other prayers and all acts of worship primarily. This second is confirmed by his expression with the word prayer in explaining that you have begun to mention it to us, glorified is He, with His saying: "He is the One who prays upon you," meaning in the manner of mercy, being compassionate. For the one who prays from us is compassionate in the pillars. And His angels, meaning all of them, are seeking forgiveness for you and protecting you from many sins and calamities. Some of them alternate between Him, glorified is He, and the prophets by what descends upon them from the remembrance that preserves them from all evil. Thus, the two prayers share in manifesting the honor of those addressed.
And when the action of the angels is attributed to Him, because He is the Creator of it and the one commanding it, He said: "To bring you out," meaning by that, "from the darknesses," meaning those arising from ignorance that leads to misguidance, "to the light," meaning that which arises from knowledge that bears fruit for guidance. So some of you will emerge by action from the darknesses of sins that necessitate the covering over the heart to the light of acts of obedience. Thus, you will be believers. And He was, meaning eternally and forever, "with the believers," meaning those for whom faith has become established. Especially, "merciful," meaning abundantly merciful by guiding them to do what the divine will is pleased with. For they are His special ones, and He carries them towards sincerity in acts of worship. Thus, He raises their ranks in the gardens of Paradise.
