Commentary
And when this was understood as opposing all that a disbeliever calls to. And the disbeliever sometimes calls to something of noble morals, he limited it by saying: ﴿And follow﴾, meaning with all your effort.
And when the care here for the revelation intensified, and the one who reveals is known from many verses, the saying: ﴿What is revealed﴾ was built for the passive form, meaning it is conveyed secretly as a lover does with his beloved ﴿to you﴾. And the place of the pronoun was brought in a way that indicates kindness in education, so that he may be strong in complying with what the previous verse commanded. He said: ﴿From your Lord﴾, meaning the One who is kind to you by rectifying all your affairs. So whatever He commands you with, do it for your Lord, not for them. And whatever He forbids you from, do likewise, whether it is approaching them or turning away from them or otherwise.
And when He commanded him to follow the revelation, desiring it with a clearer reasoning than the first reasoning, that their plot is hidden, He said, reminding with the greatest name of all that it indicates from the beautiful names, an increase in strengthening compliance, confirming the encouragement as previously mentioned. And an indication that some of the addressees may find it far-fetched in reading the address [for other than Abu 'Amr]: ﴿Indeed, Allah﴾ [meaning] with His greatness and perfection ﴿was﴾ always ﴿Aware of what you do﴾, meaning the two groups from the plots, even if they are subtle. ﴿All-Aware﴾, so do not concern yourself with their matter, for He, glorified and exalted is He, is sufficient for you even if it is great. And according to the reading of Abu 'Amr with the unseen, this reasoning would be an encouragement for sincerity, and a realization that He is capable of rectification even if salvation is difficult, and a negation of what may afflict the souls from turmoil in times of disturbance.
