Commentary
And when his saying "from them" made clear that there were among them those who go astray from the command of Allah and turn away from it, his saying came as a consolation for the believers and a warning for the disbelievers. It is a continuation that confirms a reminder for those who think that there is no resurrection. The statement also points to the attribute of excellence, indicating what will appear of his honor, blessings and peace be upon him, on that day from the praised station and others: "Indeed, your Lord" means the One who is gracious to you by sending you to magnify your reward and elevate what is with you. "He" means alone "will separate between them" that is, between the guided ones and the misled ones and the astray ones "on the Day of Resurrection" with the true judgment, so He will elevate the matter of the oppressed and bring down the plot of the oppressor. "In what they were" means in their nature, by disposition. "They differ" means they renew the disagreement in it continuously according to what they are disposed to. Nothing of it is hidden from Him. As for other than what they disagreed about, the ruling in it is either for them or against them, not between them. And what they disagreed about, not with the intention of purpose, will fall into the place of pardon.
