And when he did not mention a response to them, it was known that it was due to their humiliation. For nothing has emboldened them to disobedience except the attribute of kindness. So, nothing is suitable for them except disgrace and humiliation. And because faith is not valid except with the unseen before the seen.
And when it was possible that he fell into the illusion that their misguidance was with the insistence on the clarification, due to his inability to guide them or his reluctance, he said, attributing to what he means: I do not reject you because I was unable to misguide you in this world due to my inability to guide you in it, but because I did not intend to make you happy. And if I had willed, I would have guided you. He shifted the saying to the manifestation of greatness due to the necessity of the position for it: "And if We had willed," meaning: by virtue of the greatness that refuses for anyone other than Us to have anything independent of it or for there to be in Our possession what We do not want, "We would have given every soul," meaning: every accountable one, for the speech in it "its guidance," meaning: We made its guidance, righteousness, and success for faith and all that follows it from righteous deeds in its hand, capable of it.
And when the matter reached its limit of greatness, the speech turned to the individuals, to repel the obstinacy and to affirm that the intended meaning of the first is greatness. He said: "But I did not will that because the saying has been established from Me," and I am one who does not break the promise. For breaking a promise is either due to inability, forgetfulness, or need, and none of that is fitting for My majesty or permissible in My domain. And he affirmed for the sake of their denial, saying, swearing: "I will surely fill Hell," which is the place of My humiliation and the frowning of My enemies due to what they frowned at My allies, "from the jinn," meaning: the jinn, the faction of Iblis. And it is as if he feminized them to belittle them in the eyes of those who find their matter significant due to what led to their belittlement from the position of anger and began with them to emphasize their significance for them. And they are the ones who misled them, "and all of mankind," where I said to Iblis: "I will surely fill Hell from you and from whoever follows you among them altogether." Therefore, I willed the disbelief of the disbeliever and the disobedience of the disobedient after I made for them a choice and concealed the outcome from them. Thus, the earning is attributed to them outwardly, while creation in reality and will is for Me.
