Commentary
And when that is not necessarily permanent. And there is no joy in something that is temporary, he said: ﴿They will remain in it﴾ meaning always.
And when trust in the promise is according to the trust in the one who promises, and fulfilling the promise is of wisdom, he affirmed the content of the promise of the gardens by saying: ﴿The promise of Allah﴾ which there is nothing greater than it; so there is no promise more truthful than His promise. Then he affirmed it by saying: ﴿Indeed﴾ meaning firmly established, with a firmness like nothing else, because it is the promise of One who is like nothing else and has no equal.
And when the strange soul is worthy of affirmation, he came with two attributes which I understand to be the coming with majesty, explicitly stating them to affirm that this is indeed necessary, he said: ﴿And He﴾ meaning He promised that while He is ﴿The Exalted﴾ so nothing overcomes Him, ﴿The Wise﴾ meaning the One who is precise in what He says and does, so it cannot be contradicted or diminished.
