Then he described them in the context of mercy, wisdom, and clarity with justice, explaining to them what Surah Ar-Rum called for regarding the perfection of goodness in dealing with the truth and creation, in belief and action. He said: ﴿Those who establish prayer﴾ meaning they make it as if it is standing by performing it due to the perfection of all that was commanded thereafter in it and was encouraged towards, and it is contingent upon a manner of renewal at the appropriate times for it and continuity. He did not leave the expression with the description of those who are established, as it indicates steadfastness, for the doer of good is the one who is firmly rooted in the religion, a steadfastness that makes him as if he sees the worshipped one. And pilgrimage is included in it, for one does not honor the House five times a day except one who honors it through pilgrimage, either in action or strength. ﴿And they give zakah﴾ meaning all of it, so fasting is included in it, for no one performs the zakah of al-Fitr except one who has fasted it, either in strength or action.

And since faith is the foundation of these pillars, and faith in resurrection encompasses all its types, and it drives towards all forms of goodness, and since the Romans had concluded with turning away from those who do not possess the capacity for certainty, he said: ﴿And they﴾ meaning specifically (p-145) for their perfection in what they have entered into from these meanings ﴿in the Hereafter﴾ which has been mentioned that the criminals are heedless of it ﴿they are certain﴾ meaning they are believers in it with a certainty of faith, so they do not do anything without faith in it, nor do they become heedless of it even for the blink of an eye. Thus, he is in the highest peak of that, he worships Allah as if he sees Him, for the verse of Al-Baqarah is a beginning. And this is an end.
