Commentary
And when the concept of excellence is what Surah Ar-Rum calls for, which is faith in meeting Allah, free from any shortcomings, described with the attributes of perfection, worshipped through what He has legislated with sincerity and submission to the evidence, however it may be directed, and revolving with it however it may turn. This is the essence of wisdom. Allah, the Most High, said: "A guidance" meaning in its state or its being a precise clarification, "and a mercy" meaning carrying one towards fulfilling all that it calls for. The reading of Hamzah with the raising is: it is or he is. And He said: "For the doers of good" indicating that among His wisdom is that it is specific to this perfection, placing things in their proper place with this type. They are those who adhered to piety, which led them to excellence, and this is His worship, glorified and exalted is He, through unveiling and vigilance; it is for Him or He is for it in the end.
