And when the repetition of their witnessing such power does not benefit them in knowledge of Allah, the Exalted, this is indicated by His saying, directing the speech to the context of greatness, alerting to His great pardon, glorified and exalted is He, along with the completeness of power. This is emphasized with the utmost certainty, alerting that it is not the nature of the wise to fail to benefit from admonitions. He expresses this with a tool of doubt, alerting that His grace is more than His vengeance. He confirms with an oath their denial of disbelief: "And if We were to send" after the existence of this good effect, "a barren wind" and they see it, meaning the effect. It may be that the pronoun refers to the wind, using the expression by the cause for the caused. "Yellowed" has withered and begun to perish from the severity of the dryness of the wind, either from heat or cold. "They would remain" meaning they would persist, and our might would renew their disbelief forever, even if "remain" means to last during the day. He expressed in the past tense in the place of the future, towards "they will certainly remain, by Allah," emphasizing its realization. Perhaps he expressed with "remain" because the duration of sleep does not renew disbelief, and for this reason, he came with the partitive particle where he said: "after it" meaning after its yellowing. "They disbelieve" due to their despair from the mercy of Allah and their denial of what He has previously bestowed upon them of blessings after what has been repeated of His recognition, glorified and exalted is He, towards them with kindness, after the two circles of the inner circle met. And it was, and it was, so they did not, in times of ease, give thanks for the mercy, and in times of hardship, endure the punishment. Rather, they did not increase there in joy, nor did they decrease here anything from renewing disbelief and persistence. Thus, they remained in their blameworthy state due to their lack of insight, and they did not precede in removing the calamities, nor in bestowing blessings. So they were more misguided than the cattle.
