And when he concluded with the hearing a verse that gathered the verses of the souls and the horizons due to its being [derived from the conditions of humans and the two realms, he began with the vision, another verse that encompasses both of them as it originates from them while also being] a sign of the intended purpose, combining between (p-73) encouragement and warning, he said: ﴿And among His signs﴾. And when the flash of lightning is worthy of capturing the sight [at] the first sighting, and it occurs repeatedly from time to time, he expressed it in the present tense, omitting the letter that indicates the intention of the source for the indication of the astonishing renewal of it, saying: ﴿He shows you the lightning﴾, meaning in forms and conditions that you have often witnessed, sometimes bringing what harms and sometimes bringing what pleases. And for this reason, he expressed it with the utmost fear and hope because the ends are what are intended by themselves: ﴿In fear﴾, meaning for the fear of the burning lightning, ﴿and in hope﴾, meaning for the hope of the abundant waters, and he expressed it with hope due to the lack of the means that lead to it.

And when lightning is often one of the good tidings of rain, and what arises from water is the clearest evidence of resurrection, he followed it with an explanation of what he referred to with it from hope, saying: ﴿And He sends down﴾. And when the holding of water in the direction of the high is extremely strange, he clarified the intended meaning of the descent from the place that no one else can claim, saying: ﴿From the sky water﴾.

And when He, glorified and exalted is He, made that a cause for the continuation of life, he said: ﴿And He gives life with it﴾, meaning the water that descends from the sky specifically because most of the earth is not watered except by it, ﴿the earth﴾, meaning with the vegetation that is to it like the soul to the body of a human. And when the earth has nothing of itself in vegetation except for non-existence, and its revival (p-74) by it is repeated, it is as if it is continuous, [and this is more suitable for the purpose of the surah], he omitted the preposition, saying: ﴿After its death﴾, meaning by its dryness and crumbling. ﴿Indeed, in that﴾ [meaning] the great matter of high status ﴿are signs﴾, especially regarding the ability to resurrect. And when that is evident as being from Allah, the doer by choice, for its occurrence in one cloud and not another, at one time and not another, and in one land and not another, and in forms of strength and weakness, cold and heat, and other matters, and it is clear in its indication of resurrection in a way that is not hidden from a rational person, he said: ﴿For a people who understand﴾.
