And when the soul may have longed for whether there will be anything after their despair, he means by saying, "And the Day the Hour will be established," meaning, oh how great is that day. Then he increased in its terror by saying, "On that Day, they will be separated." That is, the believers who rejoice in the victory of Allah, and the disbelievers will be a group with no gathering after it. These are in 'Illiyyin, and those are in the lowest of the low. A judge from my companions - may Allah forgive him - told me while he was crying that he saw a terrifying dream. That is, he saw the Day of Resurrection established, and the people are gathered - as described in the hadiths - on one plain, naked, fearful, and confused, some of them surging into others. Then a person with authority pointed with a whip he had and drew a line on the ground, dividing them into two groups, saying: "These are the obedient, and these are the disobedient." He said: I was among the disobedient, and at that moment the obedient disappeared from us, so we did not see anyone from them. Then he drew with that whip again and divided us into two groups, saying: "These are the disobedient of words, and these are the disobedient of actions." He said: I was among the disobedient of actions, then the disobedient of words disappeared from us, so we did not see anyone from them. We remained, some of us sitting and some of us lying down, and we were few compared to the disobedient of words. While we were like that, suddenly a person came to someone beside me, took him by his ankle, and then pulled him out, stripping his skin in one go as if it were a pouch removed from something dry. I was filled with great fear from that. While I was like that, another person came to me from behind, threw a cloak over me, and placed it on my shoulders and wrapped it around my thighs, covering me with it, but in a manner different from the way of wearing stitched garments. He said: I woke up while I was in that state and narrated it to some of the righteous, and he said: Praise Allah for being among the disobedient of actions. He took from my covering with the cloak in that manner that I was performing Hajj. So he gave me good news about that, and I performed Hajj that year - and Allah, the Exalted, is the one asked for repentance, for He is the doer of what He wills.
