Commentary
﴿They will remain in it﴾ means the curse is everlasting. And when the one who is enduring hardship may have his hardship lessen over time, this is negated by His saying: ﴿The punishment will not be lightened for them﴾ indicating that upon them, along with the absolute severity of the expulsion, are other hardships due to the punishment. And when the one being punished for something might request a delay to return from that thing or to excuse himself, this is negated by His saying: ﴿And they will not be given respite﴾ meaning they will not be delayed to know their condition, both inwardly and outwardly, in the present and in the outcome, and to establish the proof against them from all angles; nothing of it has been left out, for the one who is enduring it is free from incapacity and forgetfulness.
