Commentary

And when He, glorified and exalted is He, completed what He intended regarding the matter of Jesus, blessings and peace be upon him, from the beginning of his creation to the end of his elevation, and what came after that regarding his followers, indicating by this what is in it of marvelous wisdom and treasures of knowledge and subtlety that descend upon the measures of aspirations in the most perfect, most precise, most complete, most sincere, and most submissive manner, He concluded it with a warning against oppression. Oppression is placing something in a place other than its rightful place. This great Qur'an has indeed attained a remarkable arrangement and eloquence in placing each of its words and meanings in the most suitable position for it, especially these verses that came in detail regarding the matter of Jesus, blessings and peace be upon him. They left no doubt in it, nor did they leave any ambiguity or confusion. Following what preceded from the detailed clear verses, His saying alerts to the greatness of these witnessing verses brought by him, blessings and peace be upon him, with the clearest truth through their miraculous nature in their arrangement and in the knowledge of their meanings without a teacher from among humans, as previously mentioned in 'That is from the news of the unseen, which We reveal to you' [Al-Imran: 44]. 'That' refers to the great news and the serious matter of which you had no knowledge of anything, nor did any of the young men of your people know it. 'We recite it' means we follow its story with what we have of greatness. 'To you' and you are the greatest of creation in its existence. 'Of the signs' means those in which there is no ambiguity, and it is permissible that it be the news of the demonstrative pronoun. 'And the wise reminder' refers to that because wisdom is placing something in its most just and most precise positions. And He indicated with the tool of distance to alert to the high status and exalted rank.
