And when the main purpose here is to clarify the miracles in the family of 'Imran, especially regarding the birth, and since Adam, peace and blessings be upon him, has already had his matter explained in Surah Al-Baqarah, which is the chapter of the Book that yields knowledge, and likewise the explanation of much of what Allah chose for Ibrahim and his family, peace and blessings be upon them, since the majority of the intention in the speech is concerning his descendants. The main purpose of mentioning Nuh, peace and blessings be upon him, is his position in the lineage, and there is nothing extraordinary about his birth that is outside of the norm. He said, alluding to those before: 'When' meaning remember as a response to those who argue with you about their matter and ask you about their condition when 'the wife of 'Imran said' while she was pregnant.
And al-Harali said: When the one mentioned in the selection was mentioned merely as a prelude to the matter of Jesus, blessings and peace be upon him, the detail was specifically about the matter of Jesus, blessings and peace be upon him, without the others mentioned with him. And in this debate between the two forms, there is a share of balance in that he mentioned the matter of the creation of Adam, blessings and peace be upon him, in Surah Al-Baqarah. He mentioned the creation of the example that corresponds to it in the surah that corresponds to Surah Al-Baqarah, which is this surah. Thus, the timing of this saying was returned to the end of this selection. He informed about the beginning of what was specifically related to Jesus, blessings and peace be upon him, from the words of the mother of Mary, the wife of Imran, when it was conveyed to her heart that she should dedicate what was in her womb as a vow. He detailed what he concluded with from the selection of the family of Imran. For this reason, the mother of Mary was identified in this address as the wife of Imran, so that the detail would align with the previous general statement: "My Lord, indeed I have dedicated to You what is in my womb." The vow of a child was common among the Children of Israel, except that it was known among them to be for males due to their righteousness for the service of the House of Allah and maintaining it. So Allah, glorified and exalted is He, completed Mary for what was completed for the men - as he, blessings and peace be upon him, said: "Many men have been perfected, but no woman has been perfected except four." He mentioned Mary, the daughter of Imran, peace be upon her. Among her perfection was the departure of her mother from her, and her origin was from the mother who had compassion. Thus, her departure was more complete than the departure of a child because she had in the time of pregnancy, nursing, and upbringing until the child could recognize his father, and at that time he would ascend to the party of his father. For this reason - and Allah, glorified and exalted is He, knows best - Ibrahim, blessings and peace be upon him, was shown the slaughter of his son at the time of his distinction. And the wife of Imran departed from her pregnancy while he was in her womb when he was most attached to her. She dedicated him to Allah, glorified and exalted is He, while he was "free" meaning there is no objection or judgment from any of the creation upon him. Al-Harali said: And the freeing is the seeking of freedom, and freedom is the lifting of the hand from the thing in every way. And in the use of the forms of abundance and repetition, there is an indication of the continuation of the determination in completely cutting off the guardianship from him so that his guardianship may be surrendered to Allah, glorified and exalted is He. End of quote.
"So accept from me" And when the goodness of the response of the one who is called upon is according to the extent of his hearing and knowledge, she justified her request for acceptance by limiting the hearing and knowledge to Him, glorified and exalted is He. She said: "Indeed, You are" meaning solely "the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing." She said as her predecessors Ibrahim and Ismail, blessings be upon them, said: "Our Lord, accept from us" [Al-Baqarah: 127] meaning no one hears my words like Your hearing, and no one knows my intention like Your knowledge, nor do I. If there is something in them that is not suitable, then overlook it.
