And when it was caused by their lying about Allah that they would be asked about their state with Him, He directed the saying to the manifestation of greatness that necessitates recompense and discussion: ﴿So how﴾ meaning what will be their state ﴿when We gather them﴾ meaning when We have lifted the veil of greatness and displayed the sword of honor and might. And since the purpose of the gathering is recompense, He said: ﴿for a Day﴾ and His description of it with the saying: ﴿there is no doubt in it﴾ implies - as Al-Harali said - that they are not at ease in their falsehood like one who does not have the basis of a book. They are in their doubt wavering until that day comes.
