Commentary
Then they followed it with their saying - magnifying what they asked to be spared from the punishment; so that the place of the question would be greater; this indicates that the supplicant in that supplication is more complete; and his sincerity is more perfect; repeating the description that necessitates kindness; exaggerating in showing desire; seeking rain for the response -: "Our Lord"; and they affirmed; with their knowledge of the encompassing knowledge of the addressed; informing that their state in their shortcomings is the state of one who is safe from the Fire; urging themselves to strive in action; so they said: "Indeed, whoever You admit to the Fire"; meaning: to the punishment; "You have certainly disgraced him"; meaning: You have humiliated him; and You have greatly dishonored him; by his being unjust.
And He concluded it with His saying: "And for the wrongdoers there are no supporters"; which decisively cuts off the hope of anyone among them who thinks that he is safe from the punishment; and it revealed the place of the implicit; to link the ruling with the description; and the generalization.
