Commentary
And when the denial was made clear to those who equate people, that they are distinct; he stated this in his saying: ﴿They are degrees﴾; meaning: they are differing in the difference of degrees. And since the consideration of disparity is not according to what is with creation, he said: ﴿With Allah﴾; meaning: the Most High King in His judgment and knowledge; even if this is hidden from you; because Allah - glorified and exalted is He - created them; so He is knowledgeable of them when He created them. ﴿And Allah﴾; meaning: the One who has all attributes of perfection; ﴿is All-Seer﴾; meaning: with sight and knowledge; ﴿of what they do﴾; meaning: after creating them; because that is also His creation and decree; and they have in it only the relation of it to them by earning. So He will reward them according to those deeds; so how can it be imagined that He equates between them in the outcome; while He has differentiated between them in the present? And He is the Just Judge?! Thus, it is known from this conclusion of His encompassing knowledge of the details of deeds, the correctness of what was initiated in the speech regarding the recompense.
