Commentary
And when the decree was: "So whatever good they do, it is known to Allah - glorified and exalted is He -; He thanks them for it"; He added to it His saying: ﴿And whatever they do﴾; meaning: you; ﴿of good﴾; whether it is spending or otherwise; ﴿it will not be denied﴾; rather it is thanked for you; because of your actions; and it was built for the unknown out of politeness towards Him - glorified and exalted is He -; and to be in the manner of the arrogant; and it was added to what its decree is: "Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing of all that the doers do"; His saying: ﴿And Allah﴾; meaning: the One who encompasses all things; ﴿is All-Knowing of the righteous﴾; of the doers whose piety carried them to every good; so He rewards them with the greatest reward; and with others, He punishes them with what He wills of punishment; this is based on the reading of the address; as for the reading of the third person, its matter is clear in its structure as I have said.
