Commentary
And when he warned them against them, he emphasized their obedience by denying it; and he expressed astonishment at that; along with what they are upon; after following the Messenger, blessings and peace be upon him; from the noble states. He said - adding to what you can understand: "So how can you obey them while you know their enmity?" -: "And how can you disbelieve"; meaning: that could occur from you at some time; in a state of states; "while the verses of Allah are recited to you"; meaning: the signs of the Greatest King; the clear ones; "and His Messenger is among you"; the guide from misguidance; the savior from ignorance; so you would have combined the agreement with the enemy; the opposition to the ally; while you are in his sight; and among you is His trustworthy one; "And whoever"; meaning: "and the state is that whoever"; "holds fast"; meaning: "exerts himself in tying his affairs"; "to Allah"; the All-Encompassing in knowledge; and power; in all his states; whoever he may be; and when (p-15) whoever limits himself to the one who has all perfection is expected to succeed; he expressed with the tool of expectation coupled with the conjunction of cause; so he said: "Then he has been guided"; and he expressed in the passive form in the manner of the speech of the capable ones; "to a straight path."
