And when He, glorified and exalted is He, had done with them a great and prolonged security in the land, unlike the state of their severe fear at sea, and He was capable of frightening them on land just as He was capable of frightening them at sea to ensure their sincerity, their disbelief in the state of security after sincerity in the state of fear - although it is one of the greatest deficiencies - is [UNTRANSLATED-LATIN: hazalan] that only one who feels secure from such a calamity on land would do.
