Commentary
Then he described them with what encourages migration. He said, defining the essence of all good, patience and being in the state of entrusting to Allah. He alerted that a person does not cease from a difficult matter that requires patience: "Those who are patient" means they have established this reality until it became a natural disposition for them. They applied it to every difficult task among the obligations, including migration and others.
And since a person is more inclined towards the one who does good to him, he encouraged resting by entrusting to Him: "And upon their Lord" means solely to Him, not to family or homeland. "They place their trust" means they establish trust as an ongoing renewal at every important matter that arises for them, in their provisions after migration and otherwise, and in striving against their enemies and other matters.
