And when He, glorified and exalted is He, established His comprehensive knowledge and complete power in this world, He equated it with what is necessitated by such in the Hereafter. Thus, the result of what has passed from the questioning is: Do people think that We cannot overpower them or that We do not know their conditions in this world? Or do they think that this will not be in the Hereafter, so their oppression in this world and their neglect of Allah's command and their arrogance over His servants would be for nothing? Would Our creation of them be mere play without wisdom in it? Rather, the wisdom lies in leaving it. This second point is the meaning of His saying, denying, 'Or do they think?' Or it could mean that when He denied the general assumption of people regarding negligence, He knew that the people of evil were more deserving of this judgment.
