And when the context was for testing, it specifically elaborated on the story of one who had no supporter from his people, or who was a stranger among them. Therefore, Allah sent the friend, blessings and peace be upon him, the nephew whom He sent to the people of Sodom: a people with whom he had no kinship or tribe. He said: ﴿And Lot﴾ meaning: We sent him, and it indicated his quick compliance by His saying: ﴿When﴾ meaning: And We sent him when ﴿he said to his people﴾ the people of Sodom, who dwelt among them and had familial ties with them, and he had separated from his uncle Ibrahim, blessings and peace be upon them, rejecting what he saw of their condition and their vile actions. He confirmed to him an indication that he - despite them seeing him as one of the most knowledgeable - was worthy of denying: ﴿Indeed, you come with a lewdness﴾ [meaning:] exceeding the limit in wickedness, so it is as if there is no lewdness other than it. Then he explained the reason for it being lewdness, starting with His saying: ﴿What no one has preceded you﴾ or it is a state clarified for their great audacity towards the forbidden, meaning: not preceded ﴿by anyone﴾. He emphasized the negation with His saying: ﴿by anyone﴾ and added with His saying: ﴿of the worlds﴾ meaning: all of them, apart from the specifics of people.
