وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا ٱتَّخَذۡتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوۡثَٰنٗا مَّوَدَّةَ بَيۡنِكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ ثُمَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ يَكۡفُرُ بَعۡضُكُم بِبَعۡضٖ وَيَلۡعَنُ بَعۡضُكُم بَعۡضٗا وَمَأۡوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ ٢٥ ﴿25
25And he (Ibrāhīm) said, “You have adopted idols instead of Allah, only because of love (you have) with each other in the worldly life. Then on the Day of Judgment you will reject each other, and will curse each other. And your abode is the Fire, and you will have no helpers.”

And when his taking away the benefit from these idols was established, he indicated here to a benefit that follows from harm, which has no relation to it. Therefore, it is not a benefit at that time. So Allah, the Most High, said: "And he said," meaning: Ibrahim, blessings and peace be upon him, not fearing their threat of killing or anything else, affirming for the sake of what he indicated regarding what they deny of the weakness of their partners and their incapacity: "Indeed, you have taken," meaning: you have taken by fabrication and pretense. And he indicated the greatness of the Creator and the exaltedness of His status by saying: "besides Allah," meaning: the One to whom everything is under His dominion, and there is no burden - in the belief of His being a Lord - needing a preliminary act of making and crafting or anything else.
