And when the ability cannot be complete except with knowledge, He said: ﴿And your Lord﴾ meaning: the Benefactor to you, the One who takes care of your upbringing, just as He is complete in ability, He is encompassing in knowledge ﴿He knows what they conceal﴾ meaning: what they hide and cover ﴿in their breasts﴾ regarding their belief that they may receive signs like the signs of Musa or not believe, and regarding what has been shown by those among them who have professed faith with their tongues, whether purely or mixed.

And when the knowledge of the hidden does not necessitate the knowledge of the apparent, either due to distance, or confusion, or the mixing of voices that prevents distinguishing some from others, or other than that, He said: ﴿And what they declare﴾ meaning: what they reveal, all of that is the same to Him, so they have no intention except by His creation.
