And when they faltered in their standing from faith due to fear of being seized, He reminded them of His favor upon them by establishing the means of security and providing sustenance. He made them aware that He alone is the one whose might they should fear, and whose punishment they should avoid for those who oppose Him and His wrath. Their fear of the consequences of following Him was either for themselves or for what they possessed of belongings. From all of this, it is certainly known that the estimation of what caused the fear from the consequences of wrongdoing is similar to the fates of the former peoples: your souls are in danger from the fear of destruction from the One who has power over you, just as His power over those who accepted you due to the cessation of following is more severe than the danger of fear from being seized due to following.
