Commentary
And when he mentioned the proof of His virtue, he followed it with the proof of His justice. He said, resuming the answer to those who thought that His virtue is of perpetual generality over the two groups: "Indeed," and he said: "Your Lord," meaning: the One who is gracious to you by combining for everyone knowledge, eloquence, religion, skill, this world, chastity, and courage, as a consolation for the Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him. "He will judge between them," meaning: among all those who are left behind, "by His judgment," meaning: which is the most just judgment, the most precise, the most effective, and the best, despite their disbelief in it and their mockery of His messengers, not by the judgment of others nor by a deputy whom He appoints. "And He is," meaning: while He is "the Mighty," so no command of His is rejected, "the All-Knowing," so no secret or public matter is hidden from Him.
