Then he indicated that by his saying: "Indeed, this Qur'an". That is, the one brought by this unlettered Prophet who did not know any knowledge before him nor did he associate with any scholar. "He recounts". That is, he follows the news and recites something piece by piece in a manner that is definitive, without any hesitation in it, without addition or omission. "To the Children of Israel". That is, whose news are well-documented in their books, and only a few of their experts know some of it. "Most of what they". That is, especially since it is from their specific news which no one else has knowledge of. "In it they differ". That is, regarding matters of religion, even if they exaggerate in concealing it, like the story of the married adulterer in their concealment that his punishment is stoning, and the story of Uzair and the Messiah, and the Prophet's ﷺ exclusion of that from their Torah. Thus, it was confirmed by the verification of one who has never been acquainted with any knowledge that it is from Allah. And it is confirmed that Allah, glorified and exalted is He, knows everything, as there is no specificity for this over others in relation to His knowledge, glorified is He.
