'And We rained' and he indicated that it is the raining of punishment with stones. [With the addition of the hamzah, it is transitive without it, so it became as if it is for the removal of the relief by bringing its opposite] by His saying: 'Upon them.' And he indicated the evil consequence due to its requirement of the evil deed that arose from it and its strangeness by His saying: 'A rain.'
