Commentary
And when he presented - as is the habit of the righteous - gratitude, and he knew that he does in the Throne what he brought him for, the soul longed for it, so it was answered by his saying: ﴿He said﴾ [that is:] Solomon, peace be upon him: ﴿Make her throne known﴾ meaning: by changing some of its features and appearance, testing her intellect as she tested us with the descriptions and the pearl and other than that. And to him is the reference in his saying: ﴿Let us see if she will be guided﴾ meaning: to know him, and that will be a reason for her guidance in religion ﴿or will she be among those﴾ whose state is that they ﴿do not find guidance﴾ meaning: rather they are in the utmost ignorance, guidance does not renew for them, rather if they were guided, they would stop at the doubts and argue with falsehood and what they have not resolved.
