Commentary
He said, 'A powerful being.' And when this term is used, it refers to a lion, a strong giant, or a man who is influential in a matter, exaggerating it with cunning and strength. Al-Razi said, 'with malice and deceit,' and it can refer to others as well. He clarified this by saying, 'I am one of the jinn.' The cunning one is thick and severe. 'I will bring it to you.' And when he knew that his aim was to hasten, he said, 'Before you rise from your place,' meaning: this gathering of yours. Then he confirmed the matter and emphasized it by saying, 'And indeed, I am strong regarding it,' meaning: bringing it to you safely. 'Reliable,' meaning: there is no fear of any deficiency from me in it.
